This sampler set of early 1900s postcards shows tourists exploring Bear's Den, a rock formation on the ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachian Trail.
In the early 1900s, Bluemont (formerly Snickersville) was the end of the line of the Washington & Old Dominion railroad, providing a welcome mountain resort destination for weary Washington, DC residents and others.
The cards are 5"x7" with blank interiors and are only available as a boxed sampler set of 12 cards. (Sorry -- customization of the card interior is not available for these cards.) All proceeds benefit the Friends of Bluemont
, a not-for-profit organization that supports the preservation of historic Bluemont, Virginia
